    The building of Karkardooma Courts Complex was completed in the year 1997-98. A residential block for judicial officers and staff is also located alongwith the regular court building. At present following courts like Civil, Criminal, MACT are functioning at Karkardooma Courts Complex. The residential block consists of four Type-VI duplex flats, seven Type-VI flats, thirty Type-V flats and fourteen Type-IV flats for judicial officers apart from Type-III and Type-II flats for staff. Earlier the Delhi Judicial Academy was functioning from Karkardooma Court Complex but now it has been shifted to Sector-14, Dwarka, New Delhi. The complex has a branch of UCO bank and a post office for the use of the court staff, litigants and lawyers.

    The Karkardooma Court complex started functioning w.e.f 15.05.1993. The complex was inaugurated by the then Hon’ble Chief Justice Delhi High Court, Sh. G.C. Mittal. The total area of the Karkardooma Court Complex is 60200 sq. meters with covered area of 48086.25 Sq. meters. Civil, Criminal & Matrimonial cases relating to East, North-East and Shahdara Districts are being looked after at Karkardooma Court Complex.

    The Mediation Cell was made operational at Karkardooma court complex on 05.05.2006 and it was inaugurated by Hon’ble Justice Sh. S.B. Sinha, Judge, Supreme Court of India.

    The facilitation Centre was set up at Karkardooma Court complex for the benefit litigants and lawyers on 18.01.2007 by Hon’ble Justice Sh. M. K. Sharma, the then Chief Justice Delhi High Court.

    The Conference Hall was inaugurated by Hon’ble Justice Sh. A. P. Shah, the then chief Justice, Delhi High Court on 03.07.2008.

    The first E-court of the country was set up in Karkardooma Court Complex and was inaugurated by Hon’ble Justice Sh. A.P. Shah the then Chief Justice Delhi High Court on 08.02.2010.
    Library was inaugurated on 26.03.2010 by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Mr. Madan B. Lokur, now the Judge, Supreme Court of India.

    The Delhi Legal Service Authority office was inaugurated by Hon’ble Justice Sh. Madan B. Lokur, on 24.04.2010.

    Modern Lock Up and Tihar Jail shop were inaugurated at Karkardooma Court on 11.03.2011 by Hon’ble Justice Sh. Dipak Misra, the then Chief Justice Delhi High Court.

    The first Vulnerable witness deposition court was set up in court no. 77 at Karkardooma Court complex on 10.02.2012 and it was inaugurated by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Altamas Kabir, Judge, Supreme Court of India.

    The first vulnerable witness deposition complex was set up in court no. 78 on 11.09.2013 which was inaugurated by Hon’ble Justice Sh. N.V. Ramana, Chief Justice Delhi High Court.

    The New Court Building Karkardooma Court Complex was inaugurated by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul, Judge, Supreme Court of India on 13.05.2022.

    The New Vulnerable Witness Deposition Complex & Creche which was inaugurated by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Satish Chandra Sharma, Chief Justice, High Court of Delhi on 12.09.2022.
